Coffee Catch-up | October 2025

A virtual networking event for dental nurses and fellow dental care professionals for you to meet new colleagues and hear about the latest developments from the world of dentistry, the Association and our special guest speakers with free CPD.

What is Coffee Catch-up?

The coffee catch-up has been created during the Covid-19 pandemic to offer members and non-member dental care professionals virtual way to the latest information from the world of dentistry, the opportunity for networking and connecting with with other dental nurses across the United Kingdom, and chat with our BADN President, the members of the BADN Executive Committee, and the staff. We also host special guest speakers who deliver valuable insights regarding a specific topic each month with the aim of helping attendees learn and expand their knowledge. Some sessions also offer FREE CPD certificates.

We also sometimes host special quiz games where you have a chance to win some prizes. The quizes are related to the speakers presentation to test your knowledge on the subject. If there is a quiz game scheduled for the speakers presentation, we will either include this information below or let you know in an e-mail upon registering, including all the necessary details prior to the event on how to take part.

The session will take place on:

Jocelyn Harding

Dental Hygienist MSc FCGDent DipDH
President Elect of the Mouth Cancer Foundation
UKOMIC Team Member

Jocelyn began her dental career in 1987, training as a dental nurse in the Royal Navy before qualifying as a dental hygienist in 1992. Her early career took her across the UK and overseas, where she embraced both professional and adventurous opportunities.

Recognising a gap in oral aftercare for patients following cancer treatment, Joss developed educational resources that have since informed her research and clinical work. Widely published in national and international journals, her BDJ Team article is the second most accessed of all time, with over 141,000 views. She is President-Elect of the Mouth Cancer Foundation and Treasurer of UKOMiC, and in 2018 received both The Probe Dental Hygienist of the Year and the Philips Shine-On Award.

In 2019, she represented BSDHT in the GOV.UK DBOH Oral Cancer V4 guidelines. In 2023, she completed her MSc and published a peer-reviewed book that has since been sold internationally.

In 2024, Joss was invited to become a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry and to speak at both the BSDHT Oral Health Conference and the International Symposium of Dental Hygiene in Seoul. This year, she was acknowledged in the College of General Dentistry’s Standards in Dentistry.

Joss is proud that her career has allowed her to collaborate with healthcare professionals across the UK and internationally—and she is excited to continue making an impact in dentistry and oral healthcare
