RENEWALS – JULY/AUGUST 2017

July and August are particularly busy times for renewals, so if you have sent in your renewal, please be patient!  We process all renewals in the order in which they are received and you will be hearing from us as soon as possible.

If your renewal for Full Membership with Cover is due, you will receive an email from Trafalgar Risk Management, 30 days before your renewal is due,  with a link which will take you direct to your renewal.  If you have not received this email, please check your junk/spam folders.  Reminder emails will be sent to you 14 days and 7 days before the due date.

If you cannot find your emails, you can go to www.trafalgarinsurance.co.uk, click on “My Trafalgar” at the top right of the page and log in using your email address and password (sent to you in your welcome email).  You can then renew by clicking on “Renew My Policy” – this renews your BADN membership and your cover.  If you cant remember your password, you can re-set it there (but only click on the reset button once!!).

Please don’t ring the BADN office to check the progress of your renewal (or to ask for your password, as we don’t have access to it), as all staff are busy processing renewals!  If you have a specific problem, please ring Adam on 01253 338364 and leave a voicemail message stating clearly your name, membership number, specific problem, and a daytime contact number or, preferably, an email address.  Adam is fielding all renewal queries leaving Shirley and Val free to process the renewals as quickly as possible.

Full Membership With Insurance Cover*

(available to all Registered Dental Nurses, subject to underwriter acceptance/approval)

Please note that, due to the Government’s increase in Insurance Premium Tax (IPT), the cost of Full Membership with Insurance Cover will increase slightly from 1 June 2017

From 1 February 2017, BADN’s indemnity scheme will be underwritten by CFC Underwriting, 85 Gracechurch Street, London EC3V 0AA.

As Trafalgar Risk Management Limited (TRM) will continue as brokers for the scheme, the changeover will not cause any disruption to BADN members.  For those members with February renewals who recently renewed cover in January 2017, you will receive an email from TRM together with a new CFC Policy Wording and Schedule, which is to replace the WRB documents previously received.

BADN members are not required to take any action regarding this change and indemnity cover continues as normal.

Full Membership Without Insurance Cover

(available to all Registered Dental Nurses)

From 1 August 2013, BADN Full Membership is also available Without Insurance Cover for just £50 per year (less for part timers).

Please note that if you choose this option, you will NOT be covered by the BADN Scheme, and MUST make arrangements for adequate cover with another provider. The GDC requires ALL registrants to have adequate cover.

The Full Member Without Insurance Cover category includes all membership benefits except Indemnity/Legal Expenses Insurance Cover.


Student Associate e-Membership – Introductory Offer

(available to Student Dental Nurses enrolled on a course leading to a registerable qualification) – £10 per year.

Student Associate e-Members receive digital access to the Journal and an e-mail with their membership details.  All correspondence is by email (e-mail address must be provided) once the initial application form is completed and returned to us.  Student Associate e-Members also have access to all other membership benefits, except indemnity cover.

If you are already a BADN Student Associate Member wishing to renew, please return the renewal notice sent to you, together with cheque or credit card payment.  If you pay by Direct Debit, you need do nothing – your membership will be renewed automatically.

Associate Membership

(available to former dental nurses (£40 per year), retired dental nurses (£25 per year), overseas dental nurses (£40 per year))

If you are already a BADN Associate Member wishing to renew, please return the renewal notice sent to you, together with cheque or credit card payment.  If you pay by Direct Debit, you need do nothing – your membership will be renewed automatically.

All forms of Associate Membership include all membership benefits, except Indemnity/Legal Expenses Insurance Cover.  Associate Members may attend AGMs, but may not speak or vote; nor may they hold office.
