HOW TO GET YOUR CPD IN THE BDNJ

There are two parts to obtaining CPD through the British Dental Nurses’ Journal:

  1.   Reading the CPD articles in the digital BDNJ – the BDNJ is only accessible to current BADN members.  First log in to the members’ area of our website www.badn.org.uk, using your current    BADN membership number and your last name. (If you have difficulties logging in, see the note at the top of the page re clearing your cache.)  There is then a link to the current edition of the BDNJ (and also to previous editions).  Click on this link, which will take you to the digital version of the Journal where you can read the various articles (general CPD) and the CPD articles (verifiable CPD).
  2.     Answering the questions and downloading your CPD certificate from Dental Republic – go to www.dentalrepublic.co.uk/bdnj and, if you haven’t already, sign up for this website by clicking on “sign up” at the top right hand corner.  You will be asked to give your name, job title, etc then click “Submit”.  An email containing a password will be sent to the email address you have used to sign up – once this arrives, copy the password, return to the site and click on “log in” (at top right hand corner, next to “sign up”).  Enter the password emailed to you (you get an opportunity to change it to a more memorable one) and, once logged in, click on “Brush Up on CPD”.  Check that the details to appear on your certificate are correct and then click on the appropriate year (eg Brush Up 2017) and then choose the article required and answer the questions.  You only have two attempts at the questions, and once you have submitted the correct answers for both articles in the chosen edition, you will be able to download and print out your CPD certificate.

Please note:  it is important to log on to www.dentalrepublic.co.uk/bdnj – visiting the ordinary dental republic site and clicking on the CPD link will result in you being asked for payment, as this is dental republic’s own CPD, not that provided for the BDNJ.  You cannot log onto the dental republic/bdnj site using your BADN membership number – you must follow the procedure outlined above – nor can you log into the BADN  members area at www.badn.org.uk using the dental republic password.

If you would like to comment on the Brush Up on CPD programme, please email info@purplems.com quoting “Brush Up”.
