CQC LAUNCH CONSULTATION ON INSPECTING & REGULATING PRIMARY DENTAL CARE SERVICES
28 November 2014
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has launched a formal consultation on its detailed guidance about how it will regulate primary dental care services from April 2015.
As part of CQC’s wider transformation programme, it has developed these proposals by working closely with dental partners, providers, key stakeholders and with the public and people who use services to make sure they get this right.
You can find the draft guidance here, which includes:
- A provider handbook on dental services
- An equalities impact assessment
- A regulatory impact assessment
The CQC will also begin testing its new approach through dental inspections from next month. Those providers that will be inspected will be contacted two weeks before the visit.
The consultation will run from 28 November 2014 to 23 January 2015 (8 weeks).
You can find the consultation document and online feedback form on the CQC’s website here – please share your views.
You can also get involved by following the Twitter handle #tellcqc throughout the consultation or joining one of the running forums, polls and live Q&A sessions on CQC’s provider online community. If you are not a member you can sign up here.
