The Care Quality Commission (CQC) would like to remind all primary dental care services about the formal consultation on its detailed guidance about how it will regulate primary dental care services from April 2015. The consultation closes on Friday 23 January, so please do share your views if you have not done so already.

As part of CQC’s wider transformation programme, it has developed these proposals by working closely with dental partners, providers, key stakeholders and with the public and people who use services to make sure they get this right.

You can find the draft guidance here, which includes:

The CQC has also begun testing its new approach through dental inspections which started in December 2014, and the feedback received from this and through the consultation will help inform the model that is adopted from April 2015.

You can find the consultation document and online feedback form on the CQC’s website here – please share your views.

You can also get involved by following the Twitter handle #tellcqc throughout the consultation.

You can also keep up-to-date with updates on the new model and share your views by joining the CQC’s provider online community. If you are not a member you can sign up here.
