Together We Can Beat Sepsis – Melissa Mead, Saturday 17 November 0930-1030
Melissa is an Ambassador of the UK Sepsis Trust and a campaigner. This presentation links to GDC Development Outcome C.
To widen delegates’ knowledge and understanding of Sepsis.
By sharing my personal story I would like to start a conversation about sepsis recognition in the community and practice, how it is relevant and how we all have a role to play in driving down the numbers of avoidable deaths.
In December 2014 I lost my one-year old son William to sepsis. His death was the result of failings in his care but the most significant was the NHS’ response and approach to sepsis which was found to be inadequate. I am going to provide an oversight in to the sepsis problem that is plaguing the UK in addition to sharing my personal story.
